Fencing Master Adam Adrian Crown has announced a new clinic series for the summer of 2006. Entitled, "Foundations of Classical Fencing," the series, intended for adults, will focus on the critical skills that form the basis of fencing at the highest level. The clinics will be held at Salle d'Armes du Lion in Ithaca, New York on June 10th, July 8th and August 5th from 12 noon until 4pm.

Maître Crown will work with a maximum of 10 students per clinic in order to ensure the optimum individual attention. Clinic tuition is $60.00 per person. It isn't necessary to attend all three clinics, but those who choose to do so will get a 10% discount.

Adam Crown received his Fencing Master Diploma under Maître Jean-Jacques Gillet in 1980. Since that time, he has been an out-spoken champion of traditional or "classical" fencing. A leading voice in the classical fencing field, Maître Crown has maintained the integrity of the art and science of the sword against the assault of what he calls "illogical" rule changes made by the increasingly divergent "sport" fencing organizations. "Classical fencing is simply real swordplay," he says. "Why do anything else?"

He recently authored Classical Fencing: The Martial Art of Incurable Romantics, something of a classical fencers' manifesto. Maître Crown created his unique IFV Method by integrating his experience as a life-long martial artist and musician, and avid horseman. His innovative approach provides the fencing student with a logical skill progression and systematic training method. "If you train correctly," the Master says with a wink, "excellence is avoidable only by a determined effort."
